Austroads Projects on Local Roads    

We now have a number of Austroads research project that specifically target local roads.  The project listed below on 'Heavy Vehicle Loading of Low Trafficked Roads' is current and of particular significance to Councils as it specifically addresses the question 'how much should Councils be spending on a particular route?'. 

Comments from Council on the strategic analysis framework proposed in Part 1 of the project would be welcomed.  Testing of the framework will proceed over the next 15 months as Part 2 of the project.

This project draws on two other previous projects involving ARRB Transport Research, namely:

• Community Expectations and Levels of Service
