Best Practice - Sealed Pavement Renewals

Current practice in sealed pavement renewals is listed in order of life cycle cost ($/m2/yr) from lowest to highest.  This listing is for new pavements constructed to renew old pavements.  Also shown are the key variables affecting life cycle cost identified in pilot council testing.  The climate and subgrade variables are the cost modifiers used by the Victoria Grants Commission.

Care is to be taken in interpreting the best practice reports as there are many factors which affect life cycle costs including availability and cost of pavement materials, traffic loading as well as subgrade and environmental conditions.
